I have AAA RV Plus road side assistance. This guaranties me a flat bed or trailer to
tow my bike, plus all of the AAA nice-itys like maps, triptiks, ect..

What prompted me to get this? I watched a motorcycle get towed by the sling method and
the tow driver had no care about slamming this motorcycle against his rear bumper.
Also the sling was riding the body work and wrapped the control cables in the sling.
Now it was not my bike but it showed me the attitude of tow persons when the owner is
not present. I know people who tow and they (of course) tell me that they do not
handle peoples car/trucks/cycles in a poor manner. I still hear the stories from them
about such people.

Conclusion: There is good and bad people in any business, but it is worth my time to
try to reduce the chance of them messing something up. If it was just as easy a Jeff
Foxworthy comedy skit.. "I think all stupid people should have to wear signs", "
.....Ohh I'm sorry, I did not see your sign".

My experience was to the contrary. All three or four times that I had to tow
my bikes for whatever reason the tow truck guys were careful, knowledgeable
and in all cases I think former (or current) riders themselves.

A lot of places in SF bay area won't tow a bike. The ones that do seem
to know what they are doing.
