Nick,
That's what Yamaha figured, so they replaced those when I had the shocks
rebuilt. Actually, if you place you hand at the ball joint, you can feel
it... looking at the micro fiche, that's the only thing I see up there that
it could be. Maybe I'll just order one for the hell of it - 176,000 miles
and no apparent way to grease it - it's GOTTA be shot by now (everything
else seems to be). I seem to be getting closer to an apparent life
expectancy of these machines... I almost bought another one just for spare
parts not too long ago...
Funny thing is, as Greg pointed out - this bike still has people scratching
their heads about how that wheel is attached - figured after all this time
and mileage, everyone around here would have seen it by now... but then,
sometimes it spends so much time in the shop, even I have to reacquaint
myself w/ it when I finally manage to get it back ... I think Montclair's
got a designated parking space w/ my name on it in their garage.....
