Are the fans coming on when the bike gets hot in traffic ?
Do they both come on ?
Are they coming on at the right temperature ?
It sounds like the engine is over heating , does it smell really hot ?

Another thing could be the HT leads / plug caps failing , breaking down ,
due to the heat .
