Mine behaves much the same way, but with fewer miles on it (in the 30's).
I looked into new valve seals, and the price convinced me that as long as
there are no other symptoms than oil consumption (i.e., no blue smoke,
compression is fine, etc.) I won't change anything.
This puppy has a 5-valve head after all. That's 20 valve seals to
replace, and the parts estimate was more than I'm willing to pay for
something that is only maybe necessary. Obviously, the first time the
engine needs to be opened up anyway I'd do it, but I suspect that may be a
long way off.
My two cents.....or two thousand dollars if you fix it....
