I've seen it a few times , it affects the piston rings as well ,
they just get stuck in their groves so you should see it as compression loss
as well .
To correct it i just use an old broken piston ring of the correct size to
scrape the burnt oil / carbon out of the ring groove seating .
Mines burning a bit of oil at highish rpm or when i give it a hand full ,
but it's not enough to warrant a strip down yet .
