No problem at all, the reason they put plastic screws on there was, as
others commented, so that the windshield would pop off if you took a dive,
supposedly so you don't cut yourself on the windshield pieces if you hit it.
I know for a fact that those broken shields can be razorsharp, I broke one
ina minor accident wa few years ago. Luckily I didn't hit the windshield or
it might have punctured something.
Cheap-o replacements can be had from a decent hardware store.
