I dont think I would skimp on the filter. Personally, I would immediately
remove the cheap filter and put on a OEM, Mobil 1 or Amsoil filter. The OEM
filter is very small, so if your Walmart filter is even shorter, you are
really giving up filter surface area and possibly getting a pressure loss.
OEM's can be had for $7-9, the Amsoil is around 9-10.
This is sort of like a human that dines on lots of sausage, bacon, etc.
The damage slowly accumulates until at about 45-50 years old you need to see
a cardiologist. JMHO. PS: The Mobil 1 and Amsoil equivilent of the
Yamaha OEM filter also fits the Infiniti Q45 V-8 engine.
