Thanks John for the great write-up. I have often wondered if that stuff even works at all. Now I know what to look for should I need it again.
I had a gas powered string trimmer that didn't run for two years and it varnished up the whole fuel system real bad. I was shocked at how hard that stuff got. It was impossible for me to clean out (although I didn't know then what I do now about solvent based cleaners). I ended up getting the carb rebuilt and all new fuel lines and filter. I now make a serious effort to run fuel stabilizer through my equipment each year before I put it away. I hope you have better luck than I did. GWN Daren
