Am I missing something here? It seems I must be. I just road tested a GTS for the first time today and it was a revelation! The first thing I noticed was the way it feels like a train on the road - absolutely rock steady - despite the fierce cross-winds we've been experiencing near the coast today. I suppose it's the suspension system - the last bike I rode that felt like that was a Norton Dominator.
The other thing was the power. OK, maybe my old Boxer is a bit dated (and it was the first time I've ridden a modern four), but is it really red-lined at 10 grand plus? I couldn't figure out what gear I was in because it was difficult to tell the difference, you could practically pull away from the lights in 5th gear. Returned to the dealer with a big smile on my face - now that's the way to end the working week. All I need do now is make sure I get a nice one ...
