That's certainly low mileage, but 9K sounds like too much. Heck, if you want to spend that kind of money, I'll sell my 93 with 35K miles and Krauser bags for less than 9K.
Bike is a bit for a beginner, but as large as you are you should be OK. It can be hefty in a parking lot though.
