Cash talks......don't just say you have cash though. If you really want the
bike, and who wouldn't want a GTS, determine what you will pay; walk in
with hard dollars in a wad, and show them the money. Then nicely say take
it or leave it...tax, title, out the door. This is all I'm giving you.
Trust me it works.

I bought a new motor home that way one time. The dealer kept saying your
offer is below our cost. I knew the cost ; advertising kick backs, etc.
and I added what I thought was a fair profit. The sales manager got
involved and said no way after pulling his invoice and playing the
arithmetic game with a pencil and paper. When I pulled the roll of cash out
and said take it leave it, as I walked toward the door........he quickly
changed his tune. He asked how much was in the roll and I said, "What I
offered". I drove out with the motor home. The salesman smiled and pulled
me aside and said, "I have been in the business twenty years, and my offer
might have knocked him out a commission, but he had always wanted to see
someone do that; so it was worth it."

I'll always remember the advice a little old Jewish clothing salesman gave
me when I was a kid buying a suit on my own in Chicago. He said, ' Make
me an offer. It won't kill you if I don't take it. You lived without
before you came and you'll do fine if you walk out without it". I've
always try to use that principle in all negotiations. It isn't always easy
when you start to make your self believe you can't live without it. A
nice clean GTS can fall into that, "I can't live without category too
easily if you aren't careful. "

Have a little fun playing the game.
