I wanted to give you my doc's answer on this, but then we'll either drop it
or move it
off list, as Michael requested.

My doc is chief orthopedic surgeon at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring,
MD (it is a public hospital).

Here's what he said:  he "doesn't believe there is a problem with either
Vioxx or Celebrex.  He believes that the reason there was a high heart
attack rate is because there is no anti-coagulant effect that you'd get with
napercin.  If _I_ want to be super safe _I_ could take 1 aspirin or 1 baby
aspirin per day."

The reason I stress the "_I_" part, is that he coached his answer as it
pertains to ME.  Therefore I would caution you to be sure YOU ask your doc
how it would pertain to you.
