How interesting. I'm 5'9" also, and I'm perfectly content with the reach
and
position. However, I fully understand and appreciate the fact that we
all have
our own 'personal' likes and dislikes, and even the fact that at the
same height,
we may have different reaches, inseam lengths, etc. Plus, and Roberto
can appreciate
this, ;^) , I have....uhm....some extra 'padding' to rest on the tank
whilst riding.
So I don't 'lock' my arms as much.

When I first began to ride the bike, I did the same thing, straight
arms, locked in
place. Many miles later, I discovered that was possible to relax the
position and
allow the arms to flex. That required me to 'rest' my abdomen on the
tank however.
Apparently, the straight arms were holding me up, as opposed to a
'sit-up and beg'
position. I compare this to most of the bullet bike postures. Us
'height-challenged'
may or may not be able to make up the difference or be comfortable with
the 'set'
positioning that the bike sort of requires. So....handlebar adjustments,
seat replacements,
and the like are great ways to bring it up to each persons 'comfort'
level and enjoyment.

And isn't that what it's all about? ;^)

Mine's stock and I like it that way. I hope you find the way that works
for you! After all,
it's a biffing bike! Ride on!
