Hi Jon , Have a look at the earth connection between the battery and frame , follow the earth cable , it bolts on to the back of the engine as far as i can remember . Also check the starting motor bolts for tightness and live lead fitting on the motor . If you think the batteries were ok , you may just be able to feel the heat build-up where the connection is bad , whilst spinning it over . Is your bike charging ok ? Only other thing i can think of is a duff starter solenoid .
