Can anyone on the list recommend an experienced,
custom metal fabricator?

One tie-down rail around my seat is broken (I have no
idea how, it was that way when I bought the bike), and
I'm think that instead of paying some exhorbitant sum
to replace it (I think they're about $300 USD), I
might prefer to have something custom done. That
desire is increased by my understanding that the metal
Yamaha used in these parts was such crap that you
really can't repair it or refinish it, and I'm loathe
to spend my money on crap - even Yamaha crap.

So, I was thinking of investigating something in
powdercoat aluminum (that's aluminium for many outside
the colonies) or perhaps stainless as a second choice.

I've never undertaken any such thing, so I have no
reasonable expectation of feasibility, no preferred
vendor, and no expectation of the what it might cost.
It's just a wild guess, but I'm guessing one of you
manic mechanics might.
Thanks,
Tom
