Actually, the early Kawasaki info I saw did acknowledge that they're GIVI.  And
that's the issue.  GIVI bags are not factory bags, at least not in my opinion.
The only part of the design that Kawasaki did was to strengthen the under-seat
subframe (in comparison to the Ninja 12) to make the bags more stable.  They
also requested that GIVI paint the bags in matching silver.

Yes, the dealer sells them and yes, the paint matches.  But when I think of
factory luggage I think of the ST (or the new VFR), anything from BMW, the
Concours, and other such bikes.  GIVIs have never impressed me as an adequate
substitute, even if a lot of the folks on this list have them.

P.S.  I know, I know, Krauser built the GTS bags.  And even that has its
problems, such as the fact that Yamaha won't sell you a key blank for one.
