The light is most likely staying on longer for three
reasons...............1)a slight reduction in oil level from filling, which
is fixed by adding enough oil to cover the sight glass completely when
sitting on the center stand; 2) chances are the different brand oil has a
slightly higher viscosity at temperature, not allowing it to drain as
quickly from the valve train. Go back to Mobil 1, it has a much more
uniform viscosity index at varying temperature and flows well when cold; and
3) the ambient temperature is probably cooler and engine is running cooler
so that the oil viscosity is higher, again allowing more of the oil to
remain in the valve train. None of this poises any real danger. The light
is only indicating a low level of oil in the engine sump.

I have found the easy fix is add a 1/2 quart of oil and ride. You are not
over filling when the excess oil is simply being retained longer in the
valve train longer because it cannot gravity drain quick enough to the sump.

Come to think of it....the excess oil consumption of the GTS may be caused
by this problem. If a half quart of excess oil collects in and floods the
valve train it may be being more easily pulled into the valve stem seals as
they age. A slight increase in the drain orifice size may help stop this.
