Jorge indicated that the headpipes are bigger than stock, and he did some experimenting with even larger pipes than the end-result of the current rig. The larger pipes had even more power across the range with the race can, but had problems fitting beneath the belly pan/chin fairing, so he went back to the current size.
If I understand Jorge correctly (it was a transatlantic call), he had a GTS for himself shortly after it came out, where he did the initial work for a one-off pipe. It was not until recently that he did further work for a pipe for customers. -----Original Message----- From: Dave Biasotti [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, January 23, 2003 1:41 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Renegade Exhaust status I agree that from the charts the Renegade increases torque and horsepower throughout the rev range. Question is - does the Renegade system use the same diameter head pipes as stock or are they larger diameter? -- Dave Biasotti // Fremont, CA ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Jan 2003 18:02:16 -0500 From: "Crisler, Jon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Renegade Exhaust status Nope, not according to the chart. Torque and HP on an otherwise stock machine was always higher than stock, except for 1 point at 3500 where they were about equal with the non-race can. With the race can, it was pretty much always 10-12% higher. Look a the dyno chart and double check to make sure I am not interpreting it wrong. http://www.renegade-products.com/renegade/index.html -----Original Message----- From: Kevin Harrington [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, January 22, 2003 5:50 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Renegade Exhaust status Something to consider is where the power lives that you actually use. The stock pipes were tuned to give midrange punch to a sport tourer that might be on the chunky side (like me)--not just horsepower, but crisp throttle response in the midrange. If I recall the dyno charts, this is slightly compromised by the larger head pipes. Might be a perfect match if the compression was bumped up a bit (FZR pistons will do this)...
