I just read that even if we step on it, hydrogen fuel cells will take at least 
50 years to make a significant dent in our fossil fuel consumption--> 
Technology Review website, latest issue.

So I guess if terraforming Venus is going to take millenia, we might as well 
get started now.  Life on Earth doesn't seem like it's going to drastically 
improve anytime soon.

OK, I know, that was weird.  I'm exhausted from too many crises at work and am 
feeling just plain old goofy and strange.  But I have enjoyed this thread.  
Thanks to all for being so intelligent and creative and *interesting*.
