Terraforming Terra would be a lot easier; the same techniques required to terraform Mars or Venus are plenty for fixing broad environmental issues on earth. A giant solar shade would eliminate any global warming problems for earth plenty quick. After that, the next easiest target for terraforming is Mars, which is a project that might be doable in only a thousand years.
