Hey Onno, I am trying to picture what this thing looks like and what it is used for. It is huge, that is for sure. By today's standard this would be a very large earth moving vehicle. Is is acting like a bulldozer with a blade? A track loader with a bucket? Or maybe an excavator with a bucket on a boom. From what I'm seeing it seems closest to maybe a track loader. Whatever the application I would put some more top armor on it. Roll overs and large falling rocks are very serious to vehicles doing this kind of work and get special attention. And the last thing the operator is going to want is a 25 ton rock punching a hole through his seal.
Another thing that might be nice. If this is intended for hostile/tainted environments you may want to think about carrying some supplemental oxygen for the fuel cell as well. This may not be needed for every job sight, but it would probably be common enough to make it an option. Plus this greatly expands the environments it can operate in (if only for short durations). If this is going to be used without much in the way of support vehicles another option you may want to add would be a second striker arm. This is called a ripper where I am from and is mounted to the rear of the vehicle. It extends down enough to push the striker into the ground then drives with it embedded in the surface. This breaks loose the surface so that the bucket or blade can move/pick it up easier. This is very common on dozer type vehicles, less so on loader types, and pretty much worthless on excavators. I kind of suck with the vehicles rules, but is there anything you can do about the maintenance or HT? It kind of seems like a hanger queen to me. That is a lot of lost productivity when you need to blow an entire shift each day maintaining it. But other than that it looks pretty cool. It might be fun to chase EV suited PCs around with one of these. 87) Clint Onno wrote on 04/22/2007 07:17:34 AM: <Snip> > > SpinDevCorp OmniMover v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL7) > Copyright 2007 by Onno Meyer > > The SDC OmniMover is a very large earthmover for planets with tainted > atmospheres.
