M1 is grand is you have the logisical chain to support it, but I wonder how things would go if it was WW2 all over and the Japanese was raping the country side as they pushed the allies into the sea.. They Japs moved fast and did well, cause they did not have a logisitcal chain to tie them down, but once they took over, they did not get one going and it pissed the locals off, and the Japanese Navy and Merchant Machine could not keep up.
An IED can take out an M1, yes? Maybe an idea is to take wars in the past, and see how a M1 would have done there? Vietnam? WW2 - European or Asian/Pacific? We won in Iraq both times, cause counter to the US news, the enemies armor was prestige, export versions and often badly used by their command.. Yes the M1 did well when they faced any real resistance but.. Afghanistan, could it be a Mecha war or just a infantry and aviation war? Infantry to do the patrols and house cleanings, and setting up OPs and like, and the aviation to get them to the OP/fire bases and like, or do rocket and like attacks, and do heloborne infantry assaults or what? Sadly not heard much so far.. Mecha how would they be used in a place like Afghanistan? Yemen? Somalia? and other bush wars?
