"Global warming" is just the buzz word naming for the climate shift.
Some scenarios describe an ice age for parts of continental Europe as a
consequence of the "Global Warming" - the movie "The Day after Tomorrow"
is based on this theory (with the difference that it assumes such an ice
age for the whole northern hemisphere). So shifting the Earth's axis
probably would do not have the *desired* result.

But we know from some research that such an axis shift has effect on the
climate; the poles have not been always where they are now. But moving
them would shift around the global climate at total, with currently not
predictable results.
