I need some help developing a plan for an NPC
I think your situation is missing a few details, so some of
my proposals might be unworkable ... what exactly do they
want to do in there? "Magic"? Actual magic? Questions asked
with pointy sticks?
Furia believes, Ingrun wants a date with Minucia but would not outright
ask for help. This is a bit of a misunderstanding. The pcs had wrongly
assumed Minucia were part of a conspiracy, and wanted to find out how
close the friendship with their owner was, before they proceeded with
anything that might harm Minucia. They did not want to mention that they
investigated the conspiracy at all, so all went on in a very roundabout
way. Sofar neither Furia nor Minucia had learned about the conspiracy or
the investigation, and i am just going by what impression they must have
made.
Ingrun does interest Minucia, but Minucia is not really sure if she should
risk an affair.
So Furia intends to lock them together, to see what might happen.
Ingrun is the only PC in the mix? I guess Ingrun is in on the
plot, but Minucia is not (she could trick Eurykleia easily).
No Ingrun is not in on the plot. But Furia could order her around (even
with bizarre orders) if an action of her would be neccessary for the plan.
Minucia might be included in the plot, but if she can get away with it,
Furia will go for "do X, when Y happens, trust me", rather then explaining
what all is about.
Would it be enough to get Furia, Ingrun and Minucia (without
Eurykleia) into that room? Would it have to be a room or can
it be a covered cart, or a secluded grove, or a tent?
Anything that is protected from outside viewers and listeners. (so if a
tent it's fine if other people are far away enough of the tent)
If Furia can go away, having her there initially would be fine.
Furia is bad company, according to the husband, but a too high ranking
one, to be just shooed away.
Ingrun is most definitly bad company.
Is Ingrun company in her own right while on duty?
She is not the kind of company Minucias husband is happy to see his wife
with. If they are not hanging around together (or there is plausible
deniablity) but them being in the same place fulfills a (morally sound)
purpose, such as Ingrun working as bodyguard, then it might work.
The husband would insist on picking and hirering bodyguards himself, and
manipulating him both to hire a bodyguard and specifically hire Ingrun
would be a tough nut to crack, especially since he is not really on
speaking terms with Furia, and will not listen to his wife on male matters
out of principle.
Should that plot develop further in that direction, Minucia will
propably present that idea to Ingrun in the future, and i will let the
players come up with detailed plans.
So what plans could Furia develop?
Find a reason to exclude "all slaves" and have Ingrun waiting
somewhere.
* Some sort of religious ceremony? A mystery cult just for
initiates?
I'll think about that. It would have to be a somewhat respectable cult
though.
* An outing which involves a river crossing on a boat for
two passengers, plus rowers. Can Furia insist to travel
with Minucia, not one of the slaves? Have a hut with
Ingrun on the other side.
The husband will not be too happy with Minucia and Furia being together
unobserved. But propably Furia can call in a favour of some more
respectable female aristocrat.
Find a reason to demand that Minucia sends Eurykleia away.
* Arrange a situation where Eurykleia is the only slave, and
where _somebody_ has to run an errand.
* Feed her something which causes stomach problems.
* Arrange for her to spill something on another high-ranking
guest.
Trick Minucia into tricking Eurykleia away.
* Furia and Ingrun are "bad company", but Minucia is Furia's
friend. Does she want to become "bad" herself? Could she
be convinced that Eurykleia is the only stumbling block to
a fun orgy?
* Have some pawn bribe Minucia to "borrow" Eurykleia for a
time, e.g. as extra kitchen help.
The stomach problem plan does not fit Furia. She might be a walking moral
hazzard, but she will not cause anyone physical harm (at least in that
affair)
Minucia already is not happy about having Eurykleia around. But she can
only send her away, if she has a plausible reason, or she gets domestic
problems.
Any plan that involves sending Eurykleia on errands, requires that she
believes, that Minucia is in respectable company during that time.
