It might be more accurate to say that Rasputin (Hellboy version) is using the Martians and Axis as pawns for his plans. > It > would be too cruel if the Martians were the last hope of > the > Allies. The Atlanteans are the last hope for the Allies but most of them were tired of protecting earth from Mars and just left, when the PCs were trying to negotiate for their help. Out of around 60 Atlanteans on earth at the start of 1942, only four are left by July. There are a few thousand of their servitors (children), but the Atlanteans don't consider them Atlanteans (at least the Atlanteans don't use them for food ...). > How much of this is public knowledge when the game starts? None and it's still not public knowledge over two years into the campaign. However, Rasputin sending a 300' long seven headed dragon to Jerusalem to kill Lilith will be hard to hide ... (While the PCs know he couldn't take control of Jerusalem with her alive, it's unclear *why* he wants Jerusalem). > Both Germans and Allies would be tempted to keep the true > nature of the Martians under wraps, "if we can deal with > Uncle Joe we can deal with them, too." The Atlanteans left aren't interested in getting more involved than they have to. Put another way, the Martians are willing to fight humans and Atanteans. The Atlanteans are only willing to fight Martians. > And can the humans exploit those differences? Are there > 'Red > Martians' who would rather become deserters than dessert? All the servitors of the Martians have undergone lifelong indoctrination as to their proper place. Will be hard to break.
