Crown Industries Sunflare v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL9) Copyright 2011 by Onno Meyer The Sunflare is an off-road truck for use on dry, desolate worlds. The vehicle consists of a steel frame with four independently powered wheels with electric motors, two bucket seats in front, and two folding benches in the rear. The truck is equipped with a skid plate, but the sides and roof are open to the elements. On an earthlike world, the Sunflare can reach 100 kph off-roads, or perhaps twice that on a salt flat. On a world with half a gravity, it might reach 300 kph. Subassemblies: Body +3, four Off-Road Wheels +2. Structure is medium, standard. Improved suspension and all-wheel steering. Armor is standard metal (open frame over body FRLBT). 4.98 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 3,000 lbs. The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third printing, December '09 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume and massive motive subassembly rules) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller rules affect the background and design choices, but not the technology of this vehicle.
