I have it, but I haven't read it for a couple of years. From my
dim recollection, it was more like a sailing trip to Australia,
with a mix of colonists, transportees, press-ganged crew, and
a few professional/volunteer crew. Including the split between
line officers and technical specialists like engineers.

It has the same feel, yes, but I think it also did a good job approaching one way that a long trip could be made.
