I have run a few d-hopping/World hopping campaigns, and the god rather well, though they seem to be more work than standard one world adventure games.
I am currently working on a game based on the idea behind the Starlost tv show form the early 1970's. Limited magic, at best, and the core idea is that the PC's will not know that they are not on a planet at all until pretty far along the path. I have converted several of the basic TSR game modules to GURPS and will be using those as simple one shot adventures to get them started, and then add the doors/portals/gates that will take them out of their habitat to another. To do this I have increased the habitat size from 50 miles to something larger. I have not decided on what the final size will be, and i may need to just give up basing it on reality in any way shape or form. A ship with 100+ habitats that has each one at 100 miles diameter, or even 500 miles doesn't seem to be something that could be created by anything less than a culture that could build a Dyson sphere or a Pendoran ring.
