Depends on how you get from system to system and can you jump together or ..
I know for an invasion where your parked at the edge of the system,
collecting your forces, having STL craft as assault craft, better than the
glider of WW2 for sure.
But hard to them there, you can't just hook up to one and go thru FTL with
one or more attached?
Ablative shielding for the ride down, be it the "gliders" above, or a drop
ship, or as a designated rally point or ..
Or a HAHO or like, where the drop ship brings one into the system, then to
near the surface but then discharges you and you land via a ablative shield
or small disposable shuttle or like?
Assault troops and the Prison Regiment, grin.
