I did not see your post in this regard before, but this is interesting. I tend to agree, that for what it does, It is certainly better than what I was using for the few months prior to this device. If I have to, I will live with the pronunciation foibles as long as I can hear and understand for the most part.

I wrote this once, but perhaps I didn't actually send it to the whole list.

I'm not trying to help GW Micro, or HIMS get out of anything, but the Booksense uses Neospeech which is also offered with the Kurzweil reading and scanning program. I hear mispronunciations with the speech in connection with Kurzweil too, so it may not be anything that GW Micro or HIMS can control or do anything about. It is a little bit of an annoyance, but the speech quality overall is much better than Eloquence, Dectalk, or any other synthetic speech I know about. If it can be fixed, that would be good, but don't be surprised if it can't without Neospeech making changes to _its_ product.
