I did have the very first incarnation of the Victor stream, and all I can say is that whatever issues it had, did not bother me.
I saw the firmware updates only as feature enhancements. I too have switched back to my victor, even though it's starting to show it's age and amount of use I've given it, simply because I too am exceedingly frustrated at all of it's many many issues which do effect me. the single one, more than any other, is constantly losing my place in mp3 books. I like having a radio and a clock, but right now, that's all that I can say for something, which with all of it's options, sells for almost double the victor, yet offers almost nothing extra in my opinion.
