Remember that we're still in beta here, so we haven't made a final
decision as to what will ship with 7.0, and what won't. It's also
important to remember that scripts can updated externally, so whatever
we ship as factory defaults could be out of date soon after 7.0 ships.
If the scripts are done correctly, they'll be able to auto-update, and
it won't be a problem. But scripts have to go through more scrutiny than
sets to ensure adding them doesn't cause more of a support issue than
having them available externally.
But, again, I implore you to remember that this was the very first beta
that included scripting support for Window-Eyes. We want to take things
nice and slow, and introduce people with care, rather than just blast
them with everything we can.

The size of the download is not really an issue. The fact is that with jaws
lets call things what they are why don't we. The scripts for programs are
included when they are needed. Set files are included and scripting a
program is nothing more then extending the functionality of the program. So
your logic works good for add ons but not for program support. For example
the skype set file is included so why not a skype script. A windows live
messenger set file is included why not the script? As for having things you
don't want I have a lot of set files I don't want when I first install
window eyes and it is just as easy to remove some thing because I know how
verses adding it will not be to some one who does not. What you are
effectively doing here is saying scripting use is only for advanced users.

yeah. and also the other advantage of getting the scripts yourself is that
unlike with the shark, you can choose what scripts you want to have
installed. If you don't want any, you don't need to have any at all. and if
you want a whole ton, you can get them yourself. If gw included them, this
would make the window-eyes download pretty bloaded or puffed up like a water
balloon.

We thought about what scripts to include by default and came up with a
basic set, however adding the other ones which are up on script central
are easy to do. This way the users can get experience in downloading and
installing scripts.

Hi so far the beta is wonderful. Don't you think you should include more
scripts buy default. I don't mean the things like getting the weather
but
things like skype winamp Scripts for messenger to get the most recent
messages things like that? -----Original Message-----

Yes, those scripts are not installed by default, so snag them from SC,
and you'll be good to go.
Glad you're enjoying the beta so far!
