Hello Mike, My observation is not so much that the new Eloquence is unstable but that, in many contexts, it is so sluggish as to be almost unusable. I hope GW Micro is able to resolve some of the performance and stability issues prior to release. I also do understand how Eloquence is developed by a third party who is no longer updating the software, so this means we will have to eventually get used to DEC-Talk or another synthesizer in the long run.
Like you, I also don't like DEC-Talk software speech. It is a far cry from the excellence of their hardware implementations. I wonder if anyone out here has tried this beta with any other software speech synthesizers? If so, is there one anyone would recommend for both responsiveness and reliability?
