It's more than just what you're used to. People have honest-to-goodness preferences. Some are passionate about Eloquence, others DecTalk, others Double-Talk. Me personally, I'd be happy to go back to the Artic Symphonix, not for its speech quality but for its responsiveness. I personally hate DecTalk: it puts pauses in the oddest places, it always wants to expand abbreviations and rarely gets it right, and so on. But that doesn't make it bad, it's just my preference. I use the competition and not WE, but so far Eloquence is my vote for responsiveness and intelligibility. But again, that's just me, opinions can, will, and should vary.
