You must also remember that because we're in beta, so are the scripts.

We are not going to verify all scripts. That is the whole point of
having user created and provided scripts. We will be adding lots more
polish to GW created scripts throughout the beta cycle.

Having been a Dectalk Express and Decaccess 32 user since back in the
WE version 1.1 days I personally don't get why people are so
passionate about Eloquence. Of course it is all what you get used to
but I find Dectalk Express and Decaccess 32 much easier to understand
and with less quirks than Eloquence. This new version of Eloquence
with the beta is somewhat more responsive when typing but that
annoying slow down and lower pitch when reading long documents simply
put sucks.
Regarding scripts, I must admit I have a lot to learn about their
possibilities and I am sure they will overall improve the usefullness
of WE but the first one I downloaded and installed from the script
central page called enhanced search crashed when I tried to use it.
Sometimes I am unlucky but I just can't believe that I was able to
pick out the only script off the list that had problems. I did report
this to GW and was informed that they have not done a real check of
all the scripts that they have available. My thinking is that with
the long delay in releasing the beta that they should have made extra
efforts to ensure that all scripts met the normal GW high standards of
quality.
Overall thoughts is that this beta needs some work but I am very
confident that GW will get it together before final release.

Oh, or we could switch to the acapela voices, acapela standard or
pro voices that is.
And increase the price of Window-Eyes by 200 bucks? No thanks.
