You're not writing in Perl or Phyton, but rather PerlScript and
PyhtonScript, which requires the interpreters to be installed.

OK, I thought that scripts were standalone programs, In other words, I
assumed you could distribute the compiled pearl or python applet as an
executable and plug it into WE without any extras being needed.

yes you could, however in order for the scripts to run on other
machines, they will have to have the correct interpreters. VBScript
and JScript are available on all Windows, but Python, Perl, and other
scripting languages will need to be installed if you want to use
scripts written in these languages.

The cost to upgrade 6.1 to 7.0 is $175.00 or 1 sma hit. If you don't
have an SMA, I suggest you get one for $299 because it will be good
for 3 upgrades.
To write scripts, you need to know a scripting language such as
VBScript or JScript. The ability to write these scripts are already
in your PC, so just fire up notepad or your favorite text editor and
hack away.
Hope this helps.

What is the rpice of the new version 7 upgrade. Can you still buy the
sma at a discount?
On scripting, does one have to buy a programming language compiler to
write scripts? If so, what is the cheapest way to get into this?
