I don't believe that the intent of the original request to drop this
subject was meant to imply that the lawsuit and subsequent actions and
support of GW Micro was off topic for this list. However, it has increased
the list traffic many times over. Since there are so many folks who wish
to discuss the lawsuit etc. in great detail, wouldn't it make sense to make
a list for that subject separate from this list? The subject does not need
to be dropped, it just needs to be taken to another forum. It sure would
make it easier to find and deal with the tech help part of this list's
traffic. While I think the idea that FS thinks they own some English words
and that others have no right to use them is preposterous and I wish GW all
the best in getting this settled in their favor, I would much rather not
have my mailbox filled with so much discussion of the lawsuit. I'd like to
concentrate on tech help posts without having to sort through so much
email. If I had a link for a blog or address for another list for lawsuit
discussion, I could go read the latest opinions and developments as my time
permits.
