GW Micro did publish the suit on their blog. I agree that we all shouldn't
blow a fuse over this as troubling as it is. Short of saying something
absolutely insane on this list about Freedom Scientific or its employees
personally, I have to wonder how much our venting really affects this
situation at all. We may have given the GW Micro staff a few chuckles which
they could probably use about now. Perhaps piling on as much encouragement
to the staff as we can is the absolute best thing we can do at present.

It will be interesting to read comments from Blind Confidential and the
Serotek blog if and when they come.

Another thing that has been going through my mind today is that there are
probably some employees at Freedom who aren't much happier than we are. Now
that's something to chew on a while. What is going on internally within the
ranks of the company is you read this? The plot thickens, as they say.

Guys,

Has anyone given consideration to the possibility that all of this public
hand wringing and strategizing might not be wise?

I have been involved in/with a number of suits over the years, including a
major one against Honeywell, and I can state with certainty that my legal
team would have gone ballistic if they saw something like this. Lawyers
always want to be in control over the publicity surrounding the case; maybe
the lawyers won't have a problem with all of this, but maybe they will. The
point is, list members aren't in a position to make that call.

As just one example of the control that attorneys like to impose is this.
When my Honeywell case finally got to trial after 2 years of discovery, they
wouldn't even permit my then fiance, or even my mother, to attend court for
the 7 weeks that the trial lasted. Not one day, not even when the jury
returned a verdict in my favor.

Anyhow, I earnestly believe that a bit of caution as it regards public
statement might well be in order.

Just my 2 cents.
