i know here in the great ol' hole called nebraska, ncbvi or whatever they call
themselves now, had never heard of windoweyes or back when i was in college,
vocaleyes, i know that for a fact because we were talking about what i needed
for my programming class, and he was saying that they would be getting me jaws,
and i spoke up and i got windoweyes, but when i went to their training bs, i
mean program for independant living, all they used or taught or tried to teach,
was jaws. i say tried because they hadn't a clue about half of what they were
presented with
thats my 1 cent

  Hi,

Is it the companies who are telling you that or the RNIB? The reason I
wonder is that I'm surprised most companies even know what JAWS is. Of course,
I don't know in which field you are looking for work and, therefore, whether
they are likely to have or have had blind people working for them previously.

If it's the RNIB trying to impose their preferences upon you, stick to your
own and tell them what *you* want.

Similarly, prospective employers shouldn't be imposing upon you what type of
access technology you should be using; point out to them the obvious, ie you
will be more productive, more quickly if you use the technology with which you
are familiar and comfortable.

Of course, the above is with the proviso that the software you will be using
works with WE.

  Regards

  Richard Bartholomew
