I went to a product demonstration at a local V.A. site a year ago and one of
the exhibitors was pushing JAWS. I asked why and he said that it was
because he could write scripts and the like for JAWS and that was how he
made a chunk of his money, by adjusting JAWS to fit the apps used by various
offices. Perhaps the scripting in window eyes will lead those who make
their bucks by adjusting software to fit environments to begin looking more
at window eyes. One can hope. RD

That's because jfw has been spoonfed into them like a baby with a
bottle.

Richad the problem is with the so called advisors who are for some
unknown reason emotionally attached to JFW.

Hi,
Is it the companies who are telling you that or the RNIB? The
reason I wonder is that I'm surprised most companies even know what
JAWS is. Of course, I don't know in which field you are looking for
work and, therefore, whether they are likely to have or have had
blind people working for them previously.
If it's the RNIB trying to impose their preferences upon you, stick
to your own and tell them what *you* want.
Similarly, prospective employers shouldn't be imposing upon you what
type of access technology you should be using; point out to them the
obvious, ie you will be more productive, more quickly if you use the
technology with which you are familiar and comfortable.
Of course, the above is with the proviso that the software you will
be using works with WE.
