I'm against this suggestion. It comes up now and again though on a Uk email list where people can post in HTML formatted emails without it being stripped out.

HTML I know to the purists is a no no; but I find it useful for enhanced navigation within emails, and it could be more useful still if people would only put a return or two after the end of their messages. With breaks between paras you can use the browse mode paragraph navigation.

Maybe the original message came from someone using a Braille display? If this is so then can't Braille display options change what is sent to the Braille display and so exclude such annoyances?

Cheers,
Ray.

That should be doable. In fact it it's a good idea since most of us here are screen readers and therefore do not require the text to be embellished in any way. However, I don't know whether you can get rid of the header information that precedes the message. Good idea in geneal. Let's see if we can persuade admin to do something about it.

Hi all, can the list serv that gw micro uses do something about
eliminating the html at the beginning of a lot of messages that goes
v\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} o\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);}
w\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} .shape {behavior:url(#default#VML);}

because many times when I see this, I get discouraged, and move on to a
message that doesn't have this. There's also some html that is
something like font face cambrea math, etcetera, and I wonder if this
can be eliminated? I use pm mail version 2717, on a windows 98 se
machine, with window-eyes 5.5, and pm mail doesn't handle html at all
well, often times, leaving the raw coding in a given message.
