Hi Jamie and List.
I have done this also, and whilst I accept that this is part of the beta
process, it is not a good set of steps at time of release.
Having said that: I understand that GW's commitment to solving this and
as many other bugs as possible before release is unwavering.
Regards
Vaughan.

When installing GW Toolkit or Homer Shared Object, I first pull up the
Window-Eyes control panel, go to the file menu, press M to get to the
message that says scripting status on and press enter. I then up-arrow to
"off" and press enter. Scripts are now stopped. I install the desired
scripts and then go through the process above pressing down-arrow to turn
scripts back on again. This has never failed to work for me. Even though the
above-mentioned scripts are supposed to stop all running scripts and restart
them after installation, this does not always work. The extra steps I
mention here are worth the effort in my opinion.

I have had a few problems with the beta sevens, but the GW toolkit has not
been one of them. When I'm notified at startup that a new GW toolkit is
available, I've just hit enter on the button to install the script and then
follow the prompts and the toolkit first stops all scripts and then
installs. It then restarts all scripts and everything is running again.
I've been running skype in the background while installing scripts also with
no problems.

maybe what we need is a script to shut all the scripts off (grin).

Hi everyone.
My problem with this is that each time there is an update, and each time
I try to install the update, my pc locks.
Often this is after I am told that all scripts need to be shut down.
All this is fair enough, but I have to hit the power button and
hopefully,
once I have my system restarted, I can try again.
The toolkit is obviously central to the success of Window-Eyes, but it
breaks my machine every time.
I
have separately unloaded each script, and then I have to separately
reload each script after the toolkit has been installed.
I wish there was a hotkey to globally do this - that is - hotkey once
unloads all scripts, and hotkey twice reloads.
The ultimate preference is for my machine not to lock up.
Vaughan.
