Hi Robert andClive. I am speaking here without intending to represent anyone
and with no intention to put anyone down. As I understand it, and I am
speaking here based solely on my own personal understanding, Sam is
speakeing for those of us who have had some problems with Window Eyes
version 7 and, like the folks who support the program, we would like to se
those problems elevated from frustrating to solved. Furthermore, as
individuals who have invested in the program's future by purchasing an SMA
we would like to have a chance to talk about where emphasis is placed in the
future.
As I have not spoken personally with Jim, I have no right to comment to any
degree on his position. He is, to my knowledge, not employed by GW Micro.
Yet his loyalty and dedication to Window-Eyes is admirable. And I do know
that when he can duplicate problems experienced by others, he does his best
to help.
Now then, As I see it, Sam is attempting to learn if there is support within
the group to explore what he is proposing. Truly, there is nothing more to
it that I can see. Honestly, that is, to my knowledge where it begins and
ens.For me, if he succeeds, I will be a happy contributor. If he does not,
then I will move on.
I've spoken up here to show that he has support for the kind of dialog he is
hoping to inspire. Now that i've done that, I'll let others have their say.

Sam and Jim,
As a newcomer to WE, I dont mind seeing issues and solutions posted.
As a newcomer to WE I dont need the acrimony when there are disagreements,
it does not help me any.
We all want a crystal ball to see into the future. As Jim points out,
so does the competition. If GW put out a self coding product then we
would have it made, wouldnt we,a screen reader that updates itself on the
fly as needs become evident. Dream on, right?
Jim also pointed out solutons to issues, such as using Narrator. Until
this product is 100% perfected, why not learn to use solutions already
available?
And the best resource we have is this very list, with its many
knowledgeable list members.
No one is protecting GW. Its just common sense that GW will hold many
projects close to the chest, and we should accept that. The way that
produicts are improved is by user input. That is what I see on this list.
That is why we are up to version 7.01 which by the way I believe does not
count on the SMA. If you want the upgrade on cd I am sure you can burn it
to cd.
Just my two pennies worth...if that much these days. LOL
