Hello Brenda. Because of the poor way that XP handles usb ports, can you also give a different port a try in case it may work better? I know you said you would be removing spy-doctor which might solve it, but just in case we are talking about two separate issues here.

Thanks.

Well, sounds interesting. Yeah, sometimes I can get the TripleTalk to stop if I hold down the control key but sometimes I have to continue to tap on it until it quits and sometimes even that doesn't work. I'll have to stop short of rebooting by turning the TripleTalk off and using Eloquence.

You wouldn't have Spyware Doctor 6 installed, now would you? I'm asking that because of the same crashing problem I' having.

For what ever it might be worth, I have WE 7.01 on both my notebook and PC. Both have Vista Ultimate with SP1 on them, and I do not experience the problem you complain of about excessive talking. When I hit tab talking stops just as it did in 6.1..

Wow I'm having the same exact problems and I just got my we a few days ago. Also you have to wait until we stops talking before you can tab to any type of control. For example, if we is talking and I want to hit tab to go to a different button or check box I have to hit the control key first to stop we from talking then hit tab otherwise we will keep talking until its done no
matter how many times I hit the tab button. I am also having the same
issues in regards with we crashing all the time and have to restart it
frequently. I am running we on a laptop that's only a few days old. As a matter a fact I turned the laptop on when I got my we and it was the first
program I installed.

Thanks
Edward

Subject: lots of problems with Window-Eyes 7.01

Hello All,

I was so glad to receive my copy of Window-Eyes 7.01 this week. I
like the way a lot has changed.

But I'm having some major problems.

I installed it and it seemed to run just fine. It asked me to
download some scripts to make applications run better and I did that.

I'm running Windows XP Pro with the latest Service Pack and all the
updates. I have a Turtle Beach Montego DDl Sound card in here, too.
I've got 3GB's of RAM. I run Internet Explorer 7 and all its updates
are current.

Now, what seems to start happening is this. I'm using the TripleTalk

USB for my default synthesizer. It's usually pretty responsive, but
since this newest version of Window-Eyes, things have drastically
changed. If I use Eloquence or DECTalk 32, I won't exactly have
what's going on.

I cannot up or down arrow, left or right arrow, backspace or space
with ease. If I go to my computer and start looking on drives or
folders, it'll take forever to get there and then, you think you've
highlighted something, and you've actually highlighted a file or
folder above the one you want to do something with or below the one
you want to do something with and you don't really know until you
delete one and then you know.

The system will ultimately crash and basically, there's nothing we
can do except to reboot. However, it's not like a normal crash. It
seems that if you're downloading something, it'll continue to
download if you let the system run, but no speech or any kind of
reaction from the screen reader, whatsoever. Yesterday, this happened
about five times.

I scanned for viruses and found none. I'm running NOD32 Version 3.

I'm also running Spyware Doctor Version 6. Up to now, the only
difference I could tell was that, when I installed Spyware Doctor
Version 6, you couldn't just automatically go into a folder when you wanted
to.

I, just for fun, installed Window-Eyes 7.01 on an older system
running XP Home with all its hot fixes, Nod32, Internet Explorer 7
and all its fixes. The differences are this:

On the older system, my default synth is the DoubleTalk LT. The other
difference is that I do not have Spyware Doctor installed in it. I
have no problem on it, whatsoever, with Window-Eyes 7.01. It's a much
slower processor. It's an AMD Athlon and on this system here is an
Intel processor.

On this system, if I try and make the TripleTalk be quiet by hitting

the control key to interrupt it, I cannot, but on the other system,
if I do that, DoubleTalk LT will stop immediately.

Now, as I said, I don't exactly know how to write all this, but it's

complicated, to say the least. If you can help, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks, in advance.

Sincerely,

Brenda
