ARD I am one of those who prefers posting a question to a list rather than calling the company. Why, you may ask?
Several reasons: (1) When posting a question, I can gain a wide variety of potential suggestions rather than the textbook answer. (2) I don't feel the pressure of having to be on the phone, in front of my pc, and quickly doing or not doing something. I can think things through, and, because, the answers are in writing, I have something to save and to refer to later. In a phone conversation, once it is over, that's it; and if I have to replicate something later, I may (or may not) be able to do it. (3) A tech line is only open during certain hours; an email list is a 24/7 operation. This is not to disparage calling tech support only to suggest why some of us may prefer taking the list route. And, with the list, others may learn something when I resolve something. The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed.
