Hi Karen, I am using an acer aspire one and I turn off the screen and touch pad by using the FN key with F5 and then the FN key with F6. I am nolonger sure which combination is for the screen or touch pad but I think the touch pad can be turned back on with the F7 or FN F7. If these do not work on your netbook than I apologize but thought this might help. Thanks, Craig B. Richcreek ----- Original Message ----- From: "Karen Poulakos" <[email protected]>

Oops! I goofed and hit reply, forgetting that the message below would not go to the group. We'll try this again. My apologies to the person who will be receiving this a second time.

I am using a netbook, and love it. With the exception of the keyboard, that is. Mine is an ASUS. I can do everything on it that I did on my laptop. I currently have my braille display, and my scanner connected. I have also used duxbury along with my braille embosser. It's perfect for my needs.

The biggest problem I have is that the touch screen is so sensative that if I even come close to it, it activates it. When I'm using it at home, I usually use an external keyboard.

I remember seeing a very small braille keyboard a year or two ago. I think it was for use with a cell phone or pda. If something like that could be used with Window-eyes on my netbook, it would be an almost perfect world. (smile)
