Thanks for that info however I had already thought of that and it doesn't help. I agree that many times it will make the announcements about the number of links and such a couple of times and I always wait until they have stopped. try to redraw the screen. Often the failure to find a place marker comes because the whole page wasn't loaded into the buffer before the search was begun. ON one site if I act precipitously, I must refresh the page using f5 before the place marker works. On long and complex pages, W E starts announcing number of links and the like before the page is fully loaded and if one fails to wait, one does not wind up with the whole page loaded.
