I have experienced this using both firefox and IE. The last time I was typing an account password in using firefox, I was talking to a colleague at the same time. He was puzzled as to why I was cursing. I explained that MS AA had refreshed and had thrown me out of the edit box. He told me that I was actually still in the edit box, and as I pressed keys information was being entered into the edit box, despite the WE report that MS AA had reloaded and I was not in the box.
Anyone care to explain? -----Original Message----- From: James Aldrich [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 19 March 2009 15:53 To: Goalball; [email protected] Subject: Re: browse mode will not stay off. Hello all! More and more sites have the screen refreshing constantly! One tries to accomplish something and by the time you almost have the info typed in the screen changes. This is a royal pain to deal with no matter which screen reader is involved! When the screen constantly refreshes on some sites, there is nothing I know of which can be done about it! I of course don't clame to know everything but I certainly have encountered this a great deal! Actually, I'm almost 100-percent certain this is a Window-Eyes behavior. Probably not a bug, but most likely designed behavior. For example, ever tried browsing www.nokia.com? The page refreshes every 10 seconds. You will be lucky if Window-Eyes remembered the place you were reading when the refresh happens. Nothing can stop this refresh. Even turning off auto load does not solve this issue. I have the same problem of the browse mode coming back on at eBay.com and amazon.com. Even GMail too. In GMail, if I don't turn auto load off, and I am composing an email, halfway through typing the recipient's email address, browse mode comes back on. This is because GMail is performing the auto complete feature, trying to guess who you are sending the message to. Apparently, this is enough to trigger the browse mode to come back on. I've never had this problem with previous versions of Window-Eyes, using any versions of IE or Firefox. And yes, I have the Google toolbar installed ever since it was available. Never had this problem till WE 7.0x. On 3/17/09, Raul A. Gallegos <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello.
