No, this issue has nothing to do with the Google Toolbar. Because I just discovered I never installed it on my machine. In fact, in 4 machines, I don't have the toolbar anywhere. I have Window-Eyes 6.1 on 2 machines, and 7.01 on 2 others. Both machines have the exact same version of Firefox and IE. The problem of the browser loading unexpectedly appears only with Window-Eyes 7.01. And yes, it's because the content of the page has changed, whether it's just a banner ad, or a small textarea. Even if you are focused in the search box at eBay, and the content that changed has nothing to do with the search box, browse mode will activate. This is probably helpful in some ways, and annoying in other ways. The culprit here is not any browser, or Window-Eyes. But Javascript. If you disable Javascript in your browser, the problem goes away. Of course this will also disable 99-percent of all websites from displaying correctly. But at least we know where the problem is. Again, this is not a bug, but most likely a design characteristic of Version 7. Browse mode has become extremely sensitive to changes in web pages.

If your reply would benefit others on the list and your message is related to GW Micro, then please consider sending your message to [email protected] so the entire list will receive it. All GW-Info messages are archived at http://www.gwmicro.com/gwinfo, and can be searched through and sorted using the search form at the bottom of the page.
