I guess the subject line really says it all. I held out hope that a
removal and re-install of IE 8 as suggested on this list would solve my
constant needs for screen redraws and manual browse mode changes. Alas,
it didn't work at all. I didn't do some kind of blow out the registry
kind of removal, but I certainly did one through control panel, and then
I did a re-install. It looks like to me my removal wasn't a complete
one, since IE 8 asked me if I wanted to keep my current accelerators. I
guess I could have attempted some kind of complete registry blow-out,
but frankly that's just not worth the hassle. I'm still going to try
this removal and re-install on my vista machine, especially since on
that machine I constantly get a request to send an error report to
Microsoft every time I close a tab or close IE 8. At least that's not
happening on the work XP machine.

So, Chip, I don't know what to tell you regarding our little problem. I
guess for now, we continue to engage in the extra keystroking until it
just becomes too counterproductive.

Regards,

Nolan
